Roy W. Beck

Roy W. Beck, MD, PhD is a physician and epidemiologist with more than 35 years’ experience directing and coordinating multi-center clinical trials. He is the Medical Director of the Jaeb Center for Health Research, which he founded in 1993. During the last 20+ years, he has had a leadership role in numerous CGM, automated insulin delivery systems, and drug studies funded by NIH, JDRF, the Helmsley Charitable Trust, and industry. Dr. Beck has been an author or co-author of more than 500 manuscripts in scientific journals.

Mahira Saiyed
MPH, CDE, Diacare-Diabetes Care and Hormone Clinic
A passionate healthcare professional working closely with Diabetologists with over a decade of experience in patient care, education and research. She holds a master’s degree in Public Health and she is involved in various research activities. She has efficiently demonstrated various research skills. And has few scientific contributions in the field of diabetes which are well-published in peer-reviewed journals. Her interest mainly focuses on pediatric diabetes, global health and epidemiology. She has been the recipient of the SWEET Research travel grant (2018), ISPAD Science School (2023) and Allan Drash Clinical Fellowship. (2023) She aims to contribute to diabetes research and enhance care.

Irl Hirsch
Professor of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine
Dr. Hirsch is a clinician educator at the University of Washington in Seattle. His interests includes best management strategies for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, in addition to inpatient diabetes management. He currently is also defining the limitations of HbA1c and how use with GMI may improve its prediction of diabetes complications in addition to novel forms of glucose monitoring.

Grazia Aleppo is a Professor of Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University in Chicago. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Catania School of Medicine. She completed her residency and endocrinology fellowship at The University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Aleppo’s clinical and research interest is in diabetes, and the implementation of CGM and automated insulin delivery systems use in clinical practice. She has participated in the major clinical trials on the use of CGM in various populations and AID systems pivotal trials. Dr. Aleppo is considered a key opinion leader in Diabetes and has authored more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
