Dr. AbdulMohsen Bakhsh is a consultant endocrinologist at KFSHRC’s Islet & Stem Cell Unit and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Alfaisal University. While he manages all forms of diabetes, his primary interest lies in type 1 diabetes, with a special focus on advanced technologies, islet transplantation, and stem cell therapies. He completed dual fellowships in Toronto and contributes to Vertex VX-880 trials, the UST1D immunotherapy study, and DCCT/EDIC follow-up, advancing innovative care in the Gulf region.

Casey Wells, PharmD, completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by two years of Ambulatory Care residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC). She now serves as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner in MAHEC’s Internal Medicine and Endocrinology Clinic, where she cares for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. With a special interest in expanding access to diabetes technology and medications, Dr. Wells recently established a new role within the clinical trials team to bring novel drugs and technologies to rural patients. She also supports her community as an insulin pump trainer.
